Judging A Book By Its Lover, a Harper Perennial book coming out in 2011.

I’ve been wanting to write this book for a long time. I know, it’s a paid site and you can’t see it, I’m sorry. I promise it says something about a book I’m writing for Harper Perennial.

First, I love reading more than anything else in the world.

Second, I admire the art of writing and deeply respect any author who creates any type of literary work.

Third, no author is spared from my cynicism, generalizations or mockery.

Fourth, my favorite section so far is “How to Speak Condescendingly About Any Author”. This section has been inspired heavily by people I’ve met in NYC.

Fifth, now taking suggestions for who to include, exclude, rag or praise.
